"When I'm in Washington, I'm going to deliver big, bold, beautiful infrastructure projects that future generations of Californians will be proud of."

1. Extend BART to properly serve San Jose

For too many decades, San Jose has been an afterthought when it comes to our region's mass transit infrastructure.  It's beyond time that the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) system properly serves the South Bay and the City of San Jose.  When I'm in Washington, I will fight to secure funding to extend BART service south on both sides of the Bay -- all the way to downtown San Jose.  With seamless regional transit, we can better connect employees and employment opportunities, while ushering in the next era of urban real estate development.

2. Alum Rock Metro Line and expansion of the light rail system

San Jose is already a city of great consequence in the global economy and innovation ecosystem.  But to realize its full potential, San Jose requires an infrastructure that will enable the construction of very badly needed housing -- in one of the most costly markets in the nation.

3. Extend CalTrain to Santa Cruz and Salinas

Much of the rail infrastructure already exists between Gilroy -- CalTrain's last stop -- and the cities of Santa Cruz and Salinas.  In Washington, I will fight to secure funding to build new passenger stations, install new signaling systems, and fully electrify the CalTrain route -- all the way to Santa Cruz and Salinas.  These communities deserve better access to Silicon Valley employment centers.

It's time to make life better for Californians by making it easier for everyone to get to the beach.
